Vladmir Putin showed his lighter side after he asked a Nigerian student to pinch him so as to quell his disbelief.
Much like the doubting Thomas in the bible, Nigerian student Edostrey couldn’t believe the Russian President was before him.
Putin was a surprise guest at the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi.
The awestruck Edostrey said; “I’m so overwhelmed. I can’t believe I’m standing in front of the Russian president,”
To which Putin jovially answered; “Go ahead and pinch me.”
Edostrey too awestruck to move couldn’t and instead got a pinch himself from the Russian President.
Putin went on to answer the questions of other students gathered at the event.
