Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has received an award from the Igbo Youth Movement.
Kanu, who is currently under detention at a prison facility in Kuje area of Abuja, received “the award of honour” for being “a great liberator of the Igbo people.”
The award, the IPOB said in a statement signed by its media and publicity officer, Emma Powerful said the award was given to the leader of the Biafra agitation in Enugu, the capital city of Enugu state.
Powerful said the award is an indication that Kanu who is also the director of the Radio Biafra is a man of the masses even while under detention.
