Governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai is currently in Saudi Arabia to perform to Umrah.
He posted a couple of photos of himself in Mecca gathered with other Muslim faithful to perform the pilgrimage and pray on sacred ground.
Umrah which the governor went to is a non-mandatory lesser pilgrimage made by Muslims to Mecca, which may be performed at any time of the year.
Meanwhile the All Progressives Congress, South-East Zone says the report of the party’s Committee headed by El-Rufai on True Federalism reflects the yearnings of most Nigerians.
The statement was made by APC South-East Zonal Publicity Secretary, Chief Hycienth Ngwu who also commended El-Rufai on a job well done.
He said, “The report is indeed a true reflection of the yearnings of most Nigerians, and it has proved beyond all reasonable doubt that the APC is determined to give Nigerians the real and positive change it promised.
“We believe that if the issues raised in the report are not politicised by few Nigerians who are vocal, thereby subjecting the report to unnecessary debate with the intent to cause delay in its implementation, Nigerians would experience harmonious co-existence in an atmosphere of peace and robust economic prosperity.
“We hereby appeal to other political parties and civil society groups to be nationalistic in their comments and views on the report. This shouldn’t be seen as APC affair, but Nigerian’s affair. We all must be committed to end these agitations.”
