Details have emerged of Mrs Funke Olakunrin, daughter of Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti’s activities one week before she was killed by “suspected herdsmen” on Friday.
Olakunrin, 58, was killed along the Ore-Shagamu Expressway at Kajola Village in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
A former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, said that Mrs Olakunrin, 58, was in the United States last week to mark the first birthday of her granddaughter, Sheyi.
The ex-minister in a tweet on Saturday shared a photo of Olakunrin smiling with her daughter and the celebrant while birthday decorations could be seen in the background.
He captioned the photo: “This is Mrs. Fasoranti-Olakunrin with her daughter and grandaughter. The pic. was taken a week ago in the U.S.A. She went to celebrate her grandaughter’s 1st birthday. Little did they know that 1 week later she would be killed by Fulani herdsmen and they would never see her again”.

While the Ondo State Police Command has described the circumstances that led to her death as “armed robbery”, Afenifere has accused “suspected herdsmen” of being behind her killing.
