In what appears to be evidence of underage voting in Kano State, an adhoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has shared a photo of a little boy who owns a Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC).
According to the INEC adhoc staff, who is a Corps member, the boy came to the polling unit to cast his vote during Saturday’s Gubernatorial and State House of Assembly elections in the state.
He said that the incident occurred at “Ward 09, (Saya Saya) Unit 007 (Kabugawa) in Albasu LGA of KANO state”.
The corps member, who was Presiding Officer, said that his Assistant Presiding Officer (APO 1) collected the PVC, tested it on the Smart Card Reader and found that the little boy genuinely owned the card.
The corps member took to his Twitter handle @Iam_Dr_RAS to share the boy’s photo.

He captioned the photo: “As the presiding officer, I was about sending this boy away from the polling unit, when my APO 1 revealed to me the boy genuinely owns a PVC. I collected the card reader to confirm, Lo and behold the PVC was truly his!!
How on earth did (INEC) issue this PVC to this boy?”
