Facebook co-founder, Mark Zuckerberg has celebrated competing in his first jiu jitsu tournament and winning a silver and gold medal.
The 38-year-old tech billionaire shared photos of his triumph on his social media platform on Sunday.
Jiu-jitsu is a martial arts form originating in Japan and a system of close combat that can be used in a defensive or offensive manner.
Zuckerberg took part in the competition held at Woodside High School in California near the Silicon Valley headquarters of Meta, Zuckerberg’s parent company that owns Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.
“Competed in my first jiu jitsu tournament and won some medals for the Guerrilla Jiu Jitsu team. Thanks to Dave Camarillo, Khai Wu, and James Terry for training me!” he wrote on Facebook.
He disclosed last year that he took to studying martial arts during the coronavirus pandemic, noting that it helped him boost his energy level and tackle challenges at work.
