Nigerian singer and producer Pheelz has emphasized that music serves a higher purpose beyond financial gain.
On X, Pheelz wrote: “Music is not a grind. It’s not a get-rich-quick scheme. It’s not a hustle. Music is life. Music is feeling. Music is healing. Music is God.”
He further distinguished between the music business and the art itself, stating: “The Music Business is man’s attempt to commodify God’s energy. The Music itself is God.”
Pheelz’s comments come as many Afrobeats artists cite poverty as a driving force behind their careers.
