The Petroleum Minister, Ibe Kachikwu has dismissed rumours and speculations circulating about the possible increase in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).

Ibe Kachikwu addressed the issue which has caused panic in and around Abuja yesterday following the meeting of the President with major Niger Delta stakeholders.

The speculation held that the price of PMS, popularly known as petrol, has been increased from N145 to N149 per liter by major petrol stations, including the retail outlets of the Nigerian National Petroleum Cooperation (NNPC)

According to Vanguard, the Petroleum Minister at the end of the president’s closed-door meeting with stakeholders from the Niger Delta region said:

“Have you heard me announce any increment? Wait until you hear from my mouth.”
