Popular singer, Peter Okoye of P-Square group has questioned the privacy of telephone conversations in Nigeria amid the controversy generated by the purported leak of Peter Obi’s phone call with popular cleric, Bishop David Oyedepo.
In the audio clip published by Peoples Gazette, a voice similar to that of Obi can be heard asking Oyedepo to speak to the Christians in the South-West and Kwara to vote for him in the presidential poll, describing the election as a “religious war”.
The emergence of the clip has generated controversy on social media and beyond.
Weighing in, Peter Okoye, also known as Mr P, said that the incident called into question the privacy of calls made on citizens’ phone lines.
