Former presidential candidate, Peter Obi has mourned the death of Spiritual Father and Chairman of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, Prophet Samuel Adefila Abidoye.
The Herald earlier reported that Prophet Abidoye died aged 103 in his home in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital, on Sunday.
In a Tuesday statement he signed, Obi described the centenarian’s death as “sad news”, noting that Prophet Abidoye’s absence has left a big vacuum in Nigeria.
“I have just received the sad news of the passing on of the Spiritual Father and Chairman of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, Prophet Samuel Adefila Abidoye, at the age of 103.
“Prophet Abidoye was an outstanding committed servant of God who touched millions of lives positively across the nation and beyond.
“His death has left a big vacuum, not just in his denomination, the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, but in the entire Christendom and our nation Nigeria.
I commiserate with the entire Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, the Christian Association of Nigeria, the government, and the people of Kwara State over his irreplaceable loss.
“May God who called him home, grant him eternal rest,” Peter Obi said.
