Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has hailed the qualities of new Arsenal coach Unai Emery and declared that another good coach has come to the Premier League.
Emery signed a two-year deal with the Gunners and his first job will be to get the London side back into the Champions League.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Guardiola said: “[Emery is a] top manager. His career speaks for itself,
“He did it perfectly in Spain with many teams – Valencia, Sevilla – and he did really well in France.
“So, welcome to England. Another good manager is coming here.”
Guardiola has an idea of Emery having faced him while coaching in Spain. The two managers have squared off 10 times with Guardiola having the upper hand on 6 of those occasions and 4 draws. Emery hasn’t won any game against Guardiola.
Also slightly worrying for Arsenal fans is Emery’s record against Manchester United’s Mourinho, who he also hasn’t won against.
