She’s known for her remarkable voice and touching ballads but that hasn’t stopped Adele’s weight from coming under microscope over the years.
After an extended break from the spotlight, the songstress spoke out about the industry’s double standards and the criticism she’s received for her larger size compared to slender pop stars.
‘I’ve always been asked questions about my body and my weight and my size and my style and stuff like that,’ the 27-year-old told Australia’s 60 Minutes. ‘And I totally understand, she continued, adding, ‘It’s a little bit annoying that men don’t get asked that question as much. But other than that it seemed to astound people that I was plus size and being successful, that was how I felt.’
Regardless of her weight, the 21 chart-topper said: ‘I don’t make music for eyes I make music for ears.’ In her typically outspoken style, the London born star added: ‘I don’t care anyway. You don’t see music, you listen to music, so what does it even matter?’
