PDP’s NWC Recalls Fayose, Asks For Peace to Reign

2 Min Read

Despite the opposition by the state chapter of the PDP, the National Working Committee, NWC, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has upheld the decision of the South West Caretaker Committee reversing the suspension of former governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayo Fayose, and State PDP Chairman, Chief Makanjuola Ogundipe, among others.

It would be remembered that after the south west caretaker committee announce that the suspension placed on the Former Governor of Ekiti State has been lifted, we had the members of the state chapter insisting that the suspension stands, they further went on to accuse fayose of trying to instigate a mass exodus of members to an opposing party.

But today, a statement by the Special Assistant on Media to the National Chairman of PDP, Mr. Oliver Okpala, said the national leadership of the party also upheld the appointment of the Dr. Oluyomi Finnih-led five-man investigative committee into the Ekiti State PDP crisis.

While commiserating with those who were attacked during the crisis, the NWC directed the Finnih committee to investigate the fracas at the party secretariat, establish the perpetrators and their sponsors with a view to recommending appropriate sanctions.

It urged the party members to be calm and keep the peace, as the 2014 governorship election drew nearer so as to make it easy for the party to dislodge the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in Ekiti and other South-West states
