The Adamawa state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has stated that it is hard at work on bringing a former Vice President and former PDP chieftain, Atiku Abubakar back into its fold.
The state chapter of the party noted this through the state chairman of the party, Abdurrahman Bobboi, while speaking yesterday in Yola at a press conference.
The disclosure comes after the former vice president of the country defected from PDP to APC in February 2014 after his attempt ton contest for the presidency failed.
While speaking to newsmen yesterday, the Adamawa state PDP chairman stated that the party is hard at work to bring back the former vice president and some other founding fathers who had left the party.
He said: “The former vice president was a founding member, was vice president under the PDP and he is resourceful. He has acquired vast experience and should not be abandoned. They’re working hard at the center and we are doing same here in his home state.”
Bobboi further stated that the All Progressive Congress has neglected the counsel of Atiku who is vast in the Nigerian politics to help it in solving the problems plaguing the party and the country.
He stated: “APC is not tapping his experience; we that know his resourcefulness will not give him breathing space until he returns.”
He added that a reconciliation committee had been constituted to look into bringing back the aggrieved former party members adding that the committee will be headed by former Governor Boni Haruna.
