PDP will be humiliated in 2015 – CNPP

2 Min Read

The Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP), Sokoto State chapter, yesterday called on President Goodluck Jonathan to honour the alleged agreement with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors in 2011 to serve only one term in office.

While speaking to journalists in Sokoto, Chairman of the CNPP, Alhaji Abba Sidi, stated that though Jonathan has the constitutional right to contest in 2015, doing so would create chaos in the country.

According to him,  the newly formed All Progressives Congress (APC) was determined to end PDP’s misrule by providing a better alternative for Nigerians to achieve their aspirations.

He advised Jonathan to focus on providing security for the citizens rather than struggling with PDP governors over the politics of 2015.

“Nigerians are currently living under siege because of the level of insecurity across the country caused by bad governance while Jonathan is struggling to position himself ahead of 2015.

“The APC is spreading like wild fire in Sokoto and other states. I assure you that the days of the PDP are numbered and it will be defeated come 2015,” he stressed.

He added that the internal division within the PDP would lead to its end in 2015, pointing out that many PDP chieftains across the country would soon desert the party for the APC.

Sidi explained that the merger of four political parties, which led to the formation of the APC, was timely as it would give enough time for the opposition leaders to mobilize Nigerians ahead of the 2015 elections.

“APC is a party with ideology unlike the ruling PDP which lacks cohesion and is in disarray.  I am happy that there is enough time to mobilise Nigerians and I assure you that PDP will be humiliated come 2015,” Sidi added.
