The Borno state chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Alhaji Baba Basharu has been suspended by the National Working Committee (NWC).
According to the Chief Olisa Metuh, the party’s national publicity secretary, the Borno chairman was suspended after preliminary hearing on reports of various activities inimical to the progress of the party, especially flouting the provisions of article 58 (1), (b), (c), (f) and (h) of the PDP constitution.
Metuh said Alhaji Baba Basharu has been referred to the National Disciplinary Committee for appropriate action in line with the provisions of the constitution of the PDP.
In 2014, he was in opposition to Goodluck Jonathan being PDP’s candidate. More details to follow later.
