When Senator Representing Ebonyi South, Sonny Ogbuoji announced his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) he must have thought there’d be some murmuring of dissent from his PDP colleagues, but he got more than he bargained for.
On hearing of his intentions to defect, PDP senators were quick to interrupt him and get into shouting matches. This created a rowdy session.
When Ogbuoji tried to cross over to the other side, he was then accosted by other PDP senators who refused to let him go through and defect.
After 10 minutes of rowdiness, Senate President Bukola Saraki had to intervene and call everyone to order. He then urged the Senator to signify any other time he wants to announce his defection.
Ogbuoji was therefore, forced to rescind his decision.
