PDP Pays July Salaries, Shares Rice, Sugar, Cash To Workers

2 Min Read

In a bid to put an end to the crisis between the People’s Democratic Party and staff of the national secretariat may come to an end sooner than expected following the payment of July salaries to the workers.

It was gathered that more incentives were offered to the workers as bags of rice and sugar, as well as cash were given to them as sallah bonuses.

According to a worker in the secretariat “I can confirm to you that I just received alert for the payment of my July salary and also several of our colleagues have also received theirs. We have been paid. They also shared cash, rice and sugar for us as sallah bonus.”

He said members of staff were ready to follow the path of honour by apologising to the NWC for the report published by the media.

“We have been directed to write letters of apology and copied the chairman, Board of Trustee (BoT), National Executive Committee (NEC) and chairman of PDP Governors’ Forum before they could listen to us” the source added.

It was also learnt from a top management staff of the party that the NWC, at its weekly meeting held in Abuja on Wednesday, resolved that the aggrieved workers must “write apology letters to the body for taking laws into their hands and not following normal procedures between employer and the employees before going to the press to make wild allegations against members of the NWC.”

The stand of the NWC on letters of apology from the aggrieved workers, it was gathered, was now causing ripples, as some workers were reported to have vowed never to write any letter.
