Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso

Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso has described the defection of his former All Progressives Congress colleague, Nuhu Ribadu to the Peoples Democratic Party as a great disappointment.

Guardian reports:

In a recent media chat Kwnakwaso had at the Kano Government House, he advised that if Ribadu cross carpeted he should come to understand that, that was a wrong place for him.

“In the case it happens which we are not hoping, I think it will be a great disappointment, being somebody whom we know as progressive all along, focused and responsible. I am sure Ribadu knows that he is in the right place,” Kwankwaso elaborated.

Assuring that Ribadu would be a great looser. “Because PDP is full of people that he jailed, so if they are sharing $20 billion he will not be happy. Mark you, the biggest punishment for a politician, is for him or her to belong to a wrong place,” he noted.

“I left PDP and joined APC because the party was derailing from the main philosophy behind its establishment. We are lucky that we have large number of followers behind us. That is why we find it very difficult to be moving from one party to another,” the governor stated.

“Look in politics you don’t chase for luck, but you have to work for it. That is why as far I am concerned defection of some political elements don’t worry me at all, “ boasted Kwankwaso.

For the National Programme Officer of PDP-For-All-Time association, Comrade Zakari Habu, Ribadu’s defection to PDP could be a great booster for the party in Adamawa and the nation in general.

Maintaining that, people like the former EFCC Boss were eagerly needed in the party to show to the world that the party was not a party a party of corrupt individuals as being accused by some people.

“Look from whatever angle you look at it Malam Nuhu Ribadu deserve to be commended for disregarding retrogressive elements in the nation’s political landscape and join the party that believes in internal democracy,” Habu clarified.
