PDP, Atiku best to vote in 2023 elections – Saraki

2 Min Read

Former Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki has touted the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the best option for Nigerians in 2023.

Saraki said this in a terse statement he personally signed and released on Saturday.

The former Kwara governor said that he has not been oblivious of recent worrisome happenings in the party.

However, he said he has been working behind the scenes, noting that it was sometimes necessary to do so.

“Last week I returned from my usual weekend, straight past Akwa Ibom State to attend the 35th anniversary of the state.

“As I traveled around some parts of the country lately, I realized that many people are worried about what is happening in our party PDP. From my understanding, there is a time to speak, and there is a time when the best is to be silent and keep doing your thing behind the scenes. Now is that kind of time.

“PDP party and Atiku Abubakar are the best to vote in 2023 elections,” Saraki said.

Recall that the PDP has been facing persistent calls for the resignation of its National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu.

A group loyal to Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, accused the national chairman of manipulating the presidential primaries of the party to favour Atiku.
