Nigerian musician, Peter Okoye of the Psquare group has advised supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) attacking him on account of his support for Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) to “stop crying”.
He said this in a Facebook post on Saturday.
Okoye explained that since he and his brother, Paul, decided to throw their support behind the LP candidate, APC supporters have called their music career “dead”.
He noted that Psquare has gone beyond a Nigerian or African brand and has become a global phenomenon, suggesting that supporting an anti-establishment politician would not hurt their career even if the establishment decided to punish them for it.
Okoye added that the success of their forthcoming album will further put their traducers to shame.
