Deputy Director and Head of Enforcement, Pharmacists Council of Nigeria, Mr Stephen Esumobi has revealed that the council closed a total of 242 drug stores in Kwara state including 14 pharmacies and 228 patent medicine shops.
While speaking during a media conference held in Ilorin, he explained that the drugs stores were closed for various offences which include non-registration of premises with PCN, dispensing poison without the supervision of a pharmacist and poor storage conditions.
He noted that Ilorin, Offa, Omu-Aran, Oro and Ijagbo are the areas affected.
