Tony Rapu, a pastor in Lagos who was among the four people allegedly defrauded by a businesswoman, Olaremi Dilureni, has been found to be a player in the oil and gas industry.
A source told PUNCH Metro on Wednesday that there is a Lagos-based pastor, Tony Rapu, who shared the same name with the business executive, who is usually mistaken for the victim.
According to The News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday Pastor Rapu, who is a senior pastor at the House of Freedom Church, had reportedly been defrauded in the incident.
However, a source in Pastor Rapu’s church said, “Pastor Rapu was not the one involved in the incident. It is not the first time that such a mix-up would happen. He has never invested in a diesel business and he is not party to any case with the EFCC.”
