Panic arise as 14 passengers gets abducted by herdsmen

14 passengers have been kidnapped by some suspected Fulani herdsmen at Ajeoku junction, along Otan-Ile-Okemesi road in Obokun Local Government of Osun state.

According to The Punch News, the former chairman of Obokun Local Government, Mr. Sunday Ojo-Williams, an indigene of Imesi Ile, confirmed the attack. He explained the vigilante group working in Imesi Ile and police officers, immediately they got wind of the attack, launched a rescue operation and were able to rescue some of the passengers. He added that while the 14 passengers were taken away, other passengers who were left behind reported the case to a nearby station.

He added, “It is true, some of the passengers who were left behind reported the case to our people at Otan-ile, they said the criminals were in the bus with them from Osogbo, before they eventually struck.

“They are still there combing the bush for others that are still being held by the kidnappers.”

According to the daily post, The police has yet to respond to the inquiries by the press over the issue, as the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Folashade Odoro, was said to be in a meeting with the Commissioner of Police when contacted by their Correspondent.
