Nigerian singer Ikuforiji Olaitan, popularly known as Oxlade, shared his experience of racial abuse in France on ‘The Datebizz’ podcast.
The incident occurred in Monaco and inspired the title of his debut album, ‘Oxlade From Africa.’
Oxlade stated, “That was what woke me up to be an African. It also made me realize that African stigma exists.”
He emphasized that outside Africa, people view Africans differently, often as “monkeys” or “strange beings.”
