There was a scene in Akure, in Ondo state on Thursday, April 5, when a group of pregnant women with their protruding bellies decided to stage protests at a state Specialist Hospital protesting outrageous medical fees introduced by the present administration in the state.
Vanguard news reports that for hours, medical activities were disrupted by the expectant women who complained over the 300 percent increase in price.
The total number of protesting pregnant women was about 200, they blocked the main entrance of the hospital for hours seeking the state government to urgently reverse the new N25,000 charge for normal deliveries and over N50,000 for complicated deliveries.
Others besieged the Ante-natal section of the hospital preventing operations in the hospital.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that a group of protesters supporting President Buhari have taken over the street of the federal capital Abuja, on the morning of Thursday, August 10. The protesters who are members of the Coalition for Good Governance and Change Initiative group were spotted at Unity Fountain carrying placards and singing solidarity songs in support of the ailing president.
