Former Special Assistant to President Jonathan on New Media, Reno Omokri has offered a piece of advice to chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who have slammed Sen. Iyiola Omisore for declaring his support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in today’s governorship rerun in Osun.
Omisore, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate, became a toast of both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and APC after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Saturday’s governorship election inconclusive and ordered a rerun in seven polling units.
Majority of the seven polling units fall within areas that are Omisore’s stronghold.
Despite allegedly agreeing to work with the PDP to ensure victory in the rerun, Omisore appeared to do a U-turn and declared support for the APC and its candidate, Gboyega Oyetola.
A PDP chieftain, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode described Omisore’s alleged volte-face as a shame.

But Omokri said there was no reason to insult Omisore over his decision.
Taking to his verified Twitter handle on Wednesday evening, Omokri said, Rather than Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftains insulting Sen. Iyiola Omisore for supporting APC, what we should do is appeal to him.
“We must have the power of diplomacy, since we don’t have power of incumbency. I urge those who insulted Omisore to apologise and urge him to reconsider.”
