Intrigue continues to trail the Osun governorship election which was declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday as Senator Omisore is alleged to have snubbed the PDP in favour of the APC.
The commission, subsequently declared a re-run of the election slated for Thursday September 27 between the two leading parties, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Subsequently, there has been lobbying of the other candidates who scored led votes in the election by party leaders from both divide; especially Senator Omisore the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in whose stronghold re-run will be held for two units.
Senator Omisore became the bride to be wooed as chieftains from both the APC and the PDP visited him to canvass for his support in Thursday’s re-run.
After having promised to work with the PDP during Bukola Saraki’s visit however, Senator Omisore is alleged to have made a turnaround when he was paid a visit by the Governor-elect of Ekiti state and APC chieftain, Kayode Fayemi.
Also in the same vein, the Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives and APC stalwart Yussuff Lasun has decided to join forces with Senator Omisore to work against the PDP candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
The APC had lost in Orolu Local Government Area, which is believed to be Lasun’s stronghold; this did not go down well with APC leaders at the national and state level.
Senator Omisore had hosted an APC delegation consisting of the Ekiti State Governor-elect Dr Kayode Fayemi and Dr Olu Agunloye at his home in Ile-Ife.

He had previously received Senate President Bukola Saraki, who came to lobby him to support the PDP on Monday.
Omisore, had left the PDP for the SDP because he alleged that the PDP ticket was manipulated in favour of Senator Adeleke.
He had promised the Senate President that he would consider the offer to join forces with the PDP once more.
However, after his meeting with the APC team, Senator Omisore posted a picture of himself and the APC delegation with the caption;
“With @OfficialAPCNg Ekiti state governor elect @kfayemi during his visit today. #goodgovernanceinosunstate #OsunDecides2018.”
While speculations were still rife However a PDP chieftain and spokesperson for the Saraki Presidential Campaign Council posted on Twitter;
“Omisore I’m told caved in to pressure from APC…”
Doyin Okupe then went ahead to reveal that Senator Omisore, joined the APC for a campaign on Tuesday.
Saturday’s election was declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) which ordered the supplementary election in seven polling units in four local governments – Osogbo, Orolu, Ife North and Ife South.
There are 3, 498 registered voters in the polling units where the elections were cancelled due to various reasons, including hijacking of election materials, abscondment of presiding officer, disruption of election by hoodlums who were shooting sporadically, manual accreditation and over voting.
Senator Adeleke led the polls with a margin of 353 votes; the re-run is expected to be a political showdown between Oyetola and Adeleke, the APC and PDP candidates.
