A helicopter conveying Vice President Yemi Osinbajo back from the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College, Gwagwalada, Abuja, where he witnessed the graduation of 40 senior officers of Customs, made an emergency landing on Thursday and could not return him to the Villa.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande disclosed this via his verified Twitter handle on Thursday.
He said, “VP Osinbajo attended the graduation ceremony of Nigeria Customs Senior Course in Gwagwalada today (Thursday).
“On his way back, it was decided, for technical reasons, not to fly the chopper that had brought him to the venue.
“He drove back to the Presidential Villa and continued his schedule.”
The Punch reported that the aircraft made the emergency landing 30 seconds after take-off, which caused the Vice President to return to the Villa by road while the chopper was left at the venue of the event.
