The summit titled: ‘Transferring Tested and Proven Business Models to the Next Generation’ was put together by the Abia State Government in conjunction with Aba Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ACCIMA).

According to Mr Hart, it is aimed at looking into the reason why many businesses of yore completely died, and come up with solutions that would ensure the longevity of current successful businesses in the city and Abia State by extension.

“History is replete with a long list of successful businesses from time immemorial. These businesses, sadly, are only now being talked about with nostalgia and in past tense because they are no longer in existence and the ashes of their glory have long since evaporated. Aba, as a cosmopolitan business melting pot has had its own fair share of these great businesses of yore which are no more.

“The Abia State Government, in conjunction with the Aba Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ACCIMA), have decided to host a Summit to look into the issues relating to this malaise and begin to synthesize solutions that will ensure the longevity of current successful businesses in the city and Abia State by extension.

“Honestly, an economically vibrant Aba is very important to the GDP of Abia State. Aba remains the economic livewire of Abia State and the Government and the business community must continue to work together to ensure the continuous vibrancy of the business ecosystem in the city for the overall good of the State,” he said.

The summit taking place between May 26 and 27 at the Aba Sports Club, Aba, would be graced by Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, financial experts, manufacturers, innovators, entrepreneurs and academics, among others.
