Vice President Yemi Osinbajo today met with Nigeria’s oldest surviving soldier, 104-year-old Private Amuda Aluko (RTD) at the Nigerian Army Day celebration.
The Nigerian Army Day is celebrated on July 6 annually to honour deceased, retired and serving members of the Nigerian Army.
In the caption of a video shared on his official Twitter handle, the Vice President wrote: “Sometimes on the job, I get to meet incredible people. Today, I met perhaps Nigeria’s oldest surviving soldier, 104 year-old, RTD Private Amuda Aluko at the Army Day Celebrations. He is almost as old as the Amalgamation of the the protectorates that became Nigeria.”
