Bamise Akintomide has been put in custody after he organized a rally for Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for his 2023 Presidential ambition.
According to Sahara reporters, Bamise is currently in detention at the Criminal and Investigation Bureau Department of the Ondo state Police Command headquarters in Ondo state Capital, Akure.
A source who spoke on the condition of anonymity told newsmen that Bamise was arrested for his participation in the rally for the Vice-President. He was the main Organizer of the rally. The source revealed that Bamise began to receive strange calls from a lot of people after the rally, who bombarded him with a myriad of questions.
“He (Akintomide) was arrested by the police. I cannot really say if he was directly picked up or invited for questioning.
“But I can confirm to you that he has been at the police headquarters in Akure since weekend and has been detained over there.

“I know his arrest must be connected with the rally he organised last week for Vice President, Osinbajo, at the APC secretariat.
“A day after he organised the rally, he received lots of strange calls asking him irrelevant questions.”
Newsmen contacted the Commissioner of Police, Undie Adie for comments but the Commissioner denied Akintomide’s arrest.

However, a Police source who spoke to Sahara reporters, confirmed the arrest, saying Akintomide was truly in custody, and that the orders to detain him, came from above.
“He is in our detention although his people are trying to ensure his bail.
“His arrest was an instruction from above and that is all I can tell you for now.” The Policeman said
Bamise Akintomide was arrested on Thursday for his role in organizing rally, distributing Tshirts and unveiling Posters and banners for VP Yemi Osinbajo’s 2023 Presidential campaign.
When the Spokesman for the All Progressives Congress, Alex Kalejaye was contacted he denied the party’s affiliation to the group, saying the group is not in any way linked to the party.
