Recently entertainment awards have been running pretty full of interestingly odd occurrences, with this year’s Grammy and Oscar awards following suit.
The 89th Oscar academy awards seemed to be in full sway without incident until the nomination for best picture was announced.
Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway told the audience that Damien Chazelle’s La La Land had claimed the award – when in fact the winner was Barry Jenkins’s Moonlight.
The mistake was only discovered after the team behind La La Land had taken to the stage.
Unsurprisingly, Twitter has been quick to react to the embarrassing reversal, with a number of celebrities and viewers choosing to make topical jokes about the mess-up.
