American television host Oprah Winfrey has categorically denied reports that she received a whopping $1 million to endorse Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris in the recent US presidential election. Washington Examiner had alleged that Oprah’s company, Harpo Productions, received the payment to host a celebrity town hall for Harris in September.
“Not true. I was paid nothing, ever,” Oprah stated, putting the rumors to rest. When asked about the election results, which saw Donald Trump emerge as President-elect, Oprah declined to comment.
It’s worth noting that Trump won the election with 72,448,303 votes, surpassing Kamala Harris in popular votes. Several world leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, have congratulated Trump on his victory.
