Nollywood actress Opeyemi Aiyeola has publicly called out fellow actress and political aide Eniola Badmus for making a derogatory comment about her appearance on social media, labeling the move “hypocritical and cruel.”
The drama unfolded after Badmus—currently serving as a Special Assistant to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abass—commented on Aiyeola’s video post with the words, “Ope, where is your front hair?” The comment, referencing Aiyeola’s visibly receding hairline, sparked backlash among fans and followers.
In a strongly worded response posted via livestream, Aiyeola said she was shocked that the comment came from someone who had personally endured online body shaming in the past. “You used to be an image of ridicule and body shaming online,” she stated, “and now you come under my video to do the same thing?”
The veteran actress expressed her disappointment in Badmus, saying the jab reflected a deeper ignorance about beauty and self-worth. “You think beauty is about physical appearance? You are ignorant,” she said. “I pity people that have you around as their friend.”
Aiyeola further emphasized that she had no intention of engaging trolls but felt compelled to respond to Badmus due to her public role and past experiences. “There are a lot of animals in human form on the internet,” she added, “but I chose to reply to you.”
