Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has lambasted the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore for calling for the arrest and prosecution of former President Olusegun Obasanjo over Monday’s viral open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Obasanjo had in the letter urged Buhari to pay more attention to security rather than treating it with kid gloves.
But the Miyetti Allah group slammed the former president, saying, “The earlier they get him (Obasanjo) arrested and dealt with, according to the laws of the land, the better. He doesn’t mean well for the country.”
Reacting to the group’s statement, Fani-Kayode described the controversial open letter as “timely and necessary”.
The ex-minister said that the earlier the Buhari administration began implementing the recommendations in the letter, the better for the country.
In a tweet on Tuesday, he also slammed the Miyetti Allah group for calling for Obasanjo’s arrest, saying that anyone that asked for such should “drop dead”.
Fani-Kayode wrote: “OBJ’s letter was timely and necessary. Whoever wants him to be arrested for it should drop dead.He is attempting to save Nigeria from another civil war. Those that oppose his counsel fail to appreciate the fact that in the event of that war they will suffer more than anyone else.”
