2 Min Read

The Ooni of Ife’s keen interest and initiatives in the Nigerian youth are poised to be successful as his business career and seek to consolidate the monarch’s vision of a prosperous Nigeria for all.

The National Anthem speaks of the exploits of our heroes past, but it appears the people, young and old, have a new champion as his vision for economic prosperity will portend to affect all Africans positively.

The Monarch recently unveiled his plans to the media:

“The meeting with the President was about peace and progress of the nation which he stands for and I stand for. What is also key is youth empowerment. That is the main purpose of this meeting. “There is a lot. I am currently working with the Minister of Agriculture. We have been able to assemble over 200,000 youths within a space of 30 days. It is unbelievable. We are encouraging them to go back to the farm.

The monarch added that the youth would be receiving 10 acres of land and agricultural inputs including seedlings and even mechanized implements to really get the best out of the land.

Oba Adeyeye Ogunnwusi also said there would be more focus on mining, insisting that Nigeria has one of the most exciting economic opportunities for exploiting solid minerals in the world.

The Ooni spoke of the gold deposits scattered around parts of Nigeria as being some of the purest in the world at 23.9 carats. He enjoined Nigerians to stop patronizing goods made in foreign parts of the world and focus more on Nigerian goods.
