The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi on Saturday ordered is convoy to stop and search for one of the journalists attached to his team after the journalist’s whereabouts was reported unknown.
The traditional ruler who was along with his entourage returning from the final ceremony of the Ooni invitational tennis tourney held at the Civil Service Club in Osogbo was told midway on their return journey that the photographer, Kunle Bowade, attached to his team was missing and in swift response ordered the convoy to stop.
He further ordered some men to go in search of the photographer who was presumed to have been left behind despite pleas from his convoy that they proceed on the journey as the missing journalist will regroup with the team in Ile-Ife.
According to reports, the convoy with dignitaries including the Kano State governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun and others did not leave the spot until the journalist was found and brought back to join the Ooni’s team.
Speaking on the act, the Director of Public Affairs, Ooni’s Palace, Moses Olafare who confirmed the incident said: “That is Kabiyesi’s style. He cares about everybody regardless of their status. He treats both the highly and lowly placed people equally. He loves and accepts everyone.”
