Mrs Juliet Ibekaku-Nwagwu, Enugu West All progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate says APC is the only party that can build a `Nigeria of our dream’.
Ibekaku-Nwagwu made this known when she received a golden award as an “Icon of Humanitarian Service” from Nigeria Youth Advocacy for Good Governance Initiative in Enugu on Monday.
She said that APC was the only party that could build an egalitarian society and a Nigeria that everyone could be proud to call his/her country.
According to her, it is a party that has guaranteed that every youth in the country has a voice in the running of the country. This is why it passed the Not Too Young to Run Act.
“APC is a party not only for today but for the future generation. Those running for political offices under its platform understand the challenges of the people and the country,” she said.
Ibekaku-Nwagwu said she was in the race for the youths and urged the youths to support her ambition to change the 16 years misrepresentation of the district.
“The incumbent senator has lost touch with his constituents and no longer understands the plight of the ordinary people of Enugu West.
She said that the award came to her as a surprise, adding that she was particularly impressed because it came from the youths.
Earlier, the Coordinator of the group, Mr Alabi Abiodun, said the APC female senatorial candidate was selected based on her track records and spectacular qualities.
“Mrs Juliet Ibekaku-Nwagwu is a silent achiever. She is one of the Nigerian women with impeccable character.
“She is a bridge builder and a pillar of support who sacrifice for the good of all especially the less privileged,” Abiodun said. (NAN)
