Only actresses are buying cars, houses – Ruggedman shades Nollywood

Veteran rapper, Michael Ugochukwu Stephens aka Ruggedman says he has shelved a plan to join Nollywood because of the financial status of male actors.

He stated this in a tweet on Friday.

According to the 44-year-old singer, the female actors appear to be making progress, including buying cars and houses, while their male colleagues seem unable to measure up.

“My male actors in Nollywood, what’s going on?

“It’s just the females that are buying cars and building houses left and right.

“I wanted to come into Nollywood but at this rate, I am not coming again,” Ruggedman wrote.

Ruggedman’s observation came amid accusations that female actors are going into prostitution to make ends meet as a result of poor pay in the industry.

A controversial male actor, Uche Maduagwu, had claimed last year that 99% of Nollywood actress bought their houses with money made from prostitution.

Maduagwu, who recently came out as gay, said these actresses sleep with politicians in Dubai and come back to Nigeria to buy mansions and deceive people that their hard work has finally paid off.

He warned such female actors to stop deceiving their colleagues.
