Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has cautioned his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), against underestimating candidates from other political parties in the upcoming November 16 governorship election. Aiyedatiwa made this statement on Sunday at a gathering organized by ‘Friends of Lucky’ in Akure to celebrate his victory at the APC primaries.
The governor, who dedicated his victory to the people of Ondo State, expressed gratitude to the party leaders and the event organizers for their support. He emphasized that the primary election was just the first phase and that there was still much work to be done to ensure victory in the main election.
Other dignitaries who attended the event, including the Deputy State Chairman of the APC, Chief Atili Adaba, and the Majority Leader of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, congratulated the governor on his well-deserved victory. They urged the party to come together to ensure success in the November election.
The Commissioner for Information, Mr. Adewale Akinlosotu, noted that the governor deserved to be celebrated and emphasized that the APC was one big family. He urged everyone to work together to ensure the party’s success in the election.
Representatives from APC Canada and a former speaker of the state’s assembly, Victor Olabimtan, also congratulated the governor on his victory and expressed confidence in the party’s chances in the election.
