Ace comedian, Seyi Law has described as “plainly stupid” those bashing singer Teni for using the term ‘Omo Ibo’.
The award-winning musician had used the term while referring to ex-BBNaija Lockdown housemate, Erica Nlewedim who had been the love interest of Laycon, another housemate.
Born in Lagos, Erica hails from Umuahia in Abia State.
Laycon, whose real name is Olamilekan Agbeleshe, became the butt of jokes at the beginning of the ongoing reality show for crushing on Erica, who was entangled with another housemate, Kiddwaya.

In a video that circulated on social media, Teni can be seen jocularly praying for deliverance for the love-stricken Laycon.
“Eyin Omo Ibo, e fi Laycon le (You Igbo people, leave Laycon alone),” Teni says at the beginning of the video.

However, she was bashed by some social media users who took offence at the use of ‘Omo Ibo’, which they described as insulting.
Replying the critics, Seyi Law said that the musician was mainly joking and the use of “Omo Ibo” was not meant to offend anyone.
The comedian wrote, “This was a video from weeks ago and Teni was obviously catching cruise and wasn’t in anyway demeaning the Igbo tribe. I guess some people are just plainly stupid.”
