The ripples generated by the kidnapping and subsequent release of former Secretary to the Federal Government, Chief Olu Falae by Fulani herdsmen may not go away anytime soon.
To this effect, a group of eminent Yoruba leaders have threatened reprisals against Fulani herdsmen in the south west if the menace posed by their nomadic cattle rearing activities did not stop.
The group in a communique issued at the end of an emergency summit held in Ibadan, Oyo state said they did not care if their actions broke up Nigeria as long as they are able to put an end to the menace.
In attendance at the summit were: President of the Yoruba Council of Elders, Gen. Adeyinka Adebayo; Founder of the Oodua Peoples Congress, Dr. Frederick Fasheun; Sir Olanihun Ajayi; Chief Ayo Adebanjo; Chief Idowu Sofola; among other Yoruba elders.
The elders who said that the attacks were unacceptable to the Yoruba race, warned that failure to adhere to the directive to cease nomadic cattle-rearing activities, including grazing, in the region may lead to the break-down of law and order in the country.
