An Abuja Federal High Court has sentenced Olisa Metuh, former spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to 7 years imprisonment after he was found guilty of unlawfully collecting N400 million from the Office of National Security Adviser (ONSA) under Sambo Dasuki.
Investigations revealed that Metuh through his firm, Destra Investments Limited laundered money meant for the ONSA.
Justice Okon Abang who delivered the judgment also ordered the convicted PDP former spokesman to pay N375 million to the coffers of the Federal Government.
Destra Investments, on the other hand, was ordered to pay N25m with respect to both counts 5 and 6 of the charge according to a report by Vanguard.

Finding the defendants guilty on the first of a seven-count charge preferred against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Justice Abang noted that they breached “public trust”.
The trial judge held that the defendants ought to have known that the funds which they collected in November 2014 was proceed of crime since they had no contractual agreement with the ONSA under Dasuki.
