Okiro charges newly-promoted AIGs, CPs on welfare of officers

The Chairman, Police Service Commission (PSC), Mr Mike Okiro, has charged the newly-promoted AIGs and CPs to take the welfare of their officers seriously.

Okiro gave the advice at the decoration of the 22 AIGs and 29 commissioners of police in Abuja on Tuesday.

He reminded them about the task ahead of them, urging them to place the interest of the country first in everything they would do.

The chairman also advised them to always prioritise the issue of housing for officers and men of the force.

Responding on behalf of the officers, AIG in charge of Zone 4, Makurdi, Mr Agboola Glover, promised 100 per cent support for the force management.

“We are going to be very supportive of this administration.

“We will give our 100 per cent support to the administration,“he said.

He thanked the Inspector-General of Police for finding them worthy for the promotion.

NAN recalls that PSC had on July 20 approved the promotion of 22 Commissioners of Police (CP), to the next rank of Assistant Inspectors -General of Police (AIG) and 29 Deputy commissioners of Police to the rank of commissioners of Police.(NAN)
