Tragedy struck in an incident that occurred between a commercial motorcycle rider and a female passenger.
A 26-year-old lady who goes by the name Blessing Ashibuogwu, is desperately clinging to the last line of her life after a bike rider pummeled her into unconsciousness and raped her inside a bush in Idumuine quarters, lssele-Uku, Delta State.
A source familiar with the story explained that Blessing had boarded the bike on her way to church on Sunday, August 9, 2020.
However, instead of transporting her to her destination, the rider, identified as Dodo Ndidi Nwaola, diverted and took her to a deserted bush, where he allegedly beat her to a pulp and raped her.
“He tore her clothes with a jackknife, used plank and cutlass to beat her to the point of death, raped and left her for dead.
She was rescued by Issele-Uku vigilante and rushed to St Threasa hospital, Issele-uku, where she was later referred to FMC emergency ward Asaba. She is in a critical state as we speak,” the source said.
The culprit has been arrested by the police in Issele-uku.
