Chelsea will have to shell out £12m per year to secure Jose Mourinho’s return to Stamford Bridge, according to reports.
The Portuguese coach’s future at the Bernabeu has come under scrutiny this season, as reports of a number of bust-ups with Real Madrid stars surfaced in the media.
Mourinho has made no secret of his desire to one day coach in the Premier League again and, according to The Mirror, he has set the price for his return.
However, the deal is believed to rest on whether the Blues qualify for the Champions League.
Popular Mourinho’s proposed west London ‘homecoming’ will be even better received with his determination to keep Stamford Bridge legend Frank Lampard at the club.
The former Blues boss remains a huge fan of Lampard and would want him to be part of his Chelsea set-up if he does return to the club he left six years ago.
Lampard, who turns 35 in June and is set to be out of contract at the end of the season, has been targeted by LA Galaxy.
The Major League Soccer club had been hopeful he would sign a three-year deal with them but the England star has stayed quiet on his future, even though there has also been interest from Manchester United and several Italian clubs.
