2 Min Read

Investigations have begun by the Ogun State Government over the alleged rape of two minors by Pastor Atude who is the Proprietor of the Light of Hope Orphanage Home in Akute, Ifo Local Government area of Ogun State. The supposedly raped minors were under the care of the Pastor.

Following the report of the allegation, the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development made new guidelines for prospective proprietors of children home to ensure that the children were properly taken care of and protected at all times.

Speaking on the issue, the state commissioner of the aforementioned Ministry, Mrs. Elizabeth Sonubi said,
”Shortly after the allegation was brought to the knowledge of the Ministry, we immediately swung into action by directing the Child Protection Network Committee, which has  responsibility to handle such matters to commence full investigations.

”No stone would be left unturned to get to the root of the matter and if he is found guilty, the proprietor would be sanctioned accordingly.

“The Ministry has commenced full scale investigations into the matter and if found guilty, we will take immediate and necessary actions against the proprietor.

”We also plan to visit the orphanage to interview children in the Home and if need be, relocate them. We shall get to the root of the matter.”

”I enjoined the public to feel free and report any case of misdemeanour to the Ministry,  and I assured you that the Senator Ibikunle Amosun-led administration remained committed to the welfare of all and sundry in the State.”
