Ogun pastor impregnates 2 underage sisters, aborts for them; defrauds same family of N2m

A cleric, Prophet Ebenezer Ajigbotoluwa, is in the custody of the Ogun State Police Command after allegedly defiling and impregnating two underage sisters and procuring abortion for them.

Ajigbotoluwa, who is the founder and General Overseer of the Church of the Lord, Olomore, Abeokuta, Ogun State, was arrested on August 6.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed in a weekend statement that the cleric was arrested following complaint lodged by the victims’ mother at the Lafenwa Police Station.

According to the statement, the woman told police that she took ill in 2018 and was taken to the church for spiritual healing.

She added that the cleric used the opportunity to direct her entire family of six to move into the church premises to avoid falling victim of the same illness.

She said that the prophet started having carnal knowledge of her two daughters aged 16 and 13, got them pregnant, and procured abortion for them in a private clinic, all without her knowledge.

The woman further alleged that the cleric defrauded her family to the tune of N2 million for the purpose of “spiritual cleansing”.

The police statement noted that the cleric abandoned the church premises when officers visited the place to effect his arrest.

However, he was arrested Thursday, August 6 “after an intelligence and technical-based investigation”, Oyeyemi stated.

“On interrogation, the suspect confessed to the commission of most of the allegations levelled against him and that it was the reason he ran away when he heard that police were looking for him,” he added.

He disclosed that the police recovered “dangerous” charms from the suspect’s home.

Oyeyemi further disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, Edward A. Ajogun, has ordered that the suspect be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.

This is just as the commissioner warned people hiding under the umbrella of religion to perpetrate evil to desist or face severe consequences.
