The Presidency has on Thursday denied rumours circulating that it cancelled the scheduled visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to Ogoniland in Rivers State for the commencement of the proposed oil spillage clean-up exercise.
While clearing the air, the presidency noted that it did not cancel the visit but instead detailed the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo to represent the president at the event.
The Special Assistant to the president on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina while explaining the reason behind the sudden change in plans said: “We all went to school. There is a difference between cancellation and being represented by someone.
He further added: “The president did not cancel his trip to Ogoniland. He was represented by the Vice President.”
